How to navigate Team Messaging

Team Messaging can be used to send messages to your team throughout the practice. For full functionality, you will want to use this feature within the PbN desktop app, although it is still available on the website.

Setting Your Location

The first thing you will want to do is set where you are located at the practice, if applicable. This is so that not only can you be messaged by your user, but by your location as well. To do so, open up Patient Flow on the desktop app, with its icon on the left. Then, navigate to the Overall Settings with the icon at the top right.

With the settings open, the first option available is to set your location. You can click the drop-down to select any existing option, which will contain each of your operatories, check-in, and check-out by default. If you would like to add more, you can do so right below with the + symbol on the right.

Navigate Team Messaging

To get started, select the Team Messaging button at the bottom left of any page in PbN or the last option on the left of the desktop app.

With the messaging window open, you will see a list of All Open conversations under either the user or location you have set. At the top left, you can also filter the conversations by Open and unread or just All Messages with the most recent at the top. At the top right, you can set your current messaging status as either your user or location.

To compose a new message, you select the icon towards the top right, which will prompt you to choose your recipient(s). You can select either a User or Location at the top to open a conversation.

You can also create a group chat by selecting the Create a Group option at the top right of the window. From there, you can select multiple recipients, and you can title the conversation.

Once you have selected your recipient(s), you can type out your message in the bottom left and hit send.

Messages can also be edited and deleted. You can find this at the bottom left-hand side of the page. You will hover over the person icon until the three dots appear, allowing you to edit or delete the message. You can now upload and download a file from team messaging and send a GIF.

Alerts

Along with received messages, you will also see Operatory Alerts and Staff/Provider Summons at the top of the Team Messaging window. For example, if you are in a conversation with an operatory, and an alert is selected on that operator, you will see it listed in the chat.
